Allergy Policy

At Murray Districts Playgroup, the safety and wellbeing of our children and families is our top priority. To support our community and reduce the risk of allergic reactions within our sessions, we follow a strict egg-free, nut-free, and dairy-free policy.

Food Safety & Cross-Contamination

We kindly ask all families to:

  • Refrain from bringing any foods containing eggs, nuts, or dairy into the playgroup.
  • Avoid cross-contamination by ensuring all snacks, lunch items, and containers are thoroughly cleaned and prepared away from allergen-containing foods.
  • Always check ingredient labels carefully before attending a session.

Medication & Emergency Response

Families of children with known allergies are required to:

  • Carry all necessary and adequate medication (such as EpiPens, antihistamines, or other prescribed items) to every session.
  • Ensure medication is clearly labelled and easily accessible at all times.

If you believe any child or member is experiencing an allergic reaction, please notify a committee member immediately. Our team will assist, follow emergency procedures, and contact medical help if required.

Keeping Everyone Safe

We appreciate your support in maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for all our families. By working together and being allergen-aware, we can ensure our playgroup remains welcoming and safe for everyone.
